ISHR team provides targeted help in the war zone where others cannot reach. As part of the UN water sanitation programme, we were able to install a water filter in a rural school in Hornostaipil and provide food to 3 institutions for elderly care. Watch our video!

The village of Hornostaipil is located in the Ivankiv village community of Kyiv region, not far from the Belarusian border, near the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where the nuclear disaster occurred in 1986. Because of this location, there is almost no humanitarian aid distributed there. The school, like the psychoneurological social centre we had helped earlier, had big problems with water supply and water quality.

In the local school, 273 children and 44 teachers now use the filter system.

Our aim is to provide drinking water to the local population and refugees in areas affected by the hostilities.

Such measures will contribute to preventing a critical deterioration in the sanitary and hygienic living standard of the population and a possible related deterioration in health condition.

On July 15, 2022, ISHR team also visited an institution for elderly care and disabled people in Hornostaipilvillage, as well as a neuropsychiatric institution in the neighbouring village of Sukachi. 226 people were provided with food for the nearest future.
