Humanitarian aid in Ukraine

Video report, Bonn, 20. April 2024

Anton Alexeyev is the chairman of our Ukrainian section, Anton Alexeyev is the executive director of the Ukrainian section of the ISHR and head of the Information and Analysis Centre of the ISHR Ukraine, or IAC for short. As he is of course unable to travel so easily at the moment, he has sent us a video that gives us a good insight into the work of the ISHR Ukraine section. The ISHR has been working with Anton Alexeyev on a project for over 10 years, which has now been supported by Valeriia Liamzienko for two years.

Since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, the ISHR team in Ukraine has distributed humanitarian aid to over 100,000 people in need.

Until the outbreak of the war, Anton led the monitoring project to observe fair trials in Ukraine and Armenia in cooperation with the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). His wife Anastasia coordinated the project, and with the outbreak of war the distribution of humanitarian aid began, initially sporadically but now on a large scale, with the help of UN funds. There is great need among the population, especially mothers with children, people with disabilities, the sick and the elderly.
