Overview

Human Rights Online

Human Rights Online exists to promote communication between and with the Eastern Partnership countries and Russia in the broad field of human rights. In each country of the Eastern Partnership and Russia, national sections of the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) lead workshops locally for youth and human rights activists, in which participants learned how to use the site and how to contribute posts.

The website is part of a project of the German section of the International Society for Human Rights / ISHR in cooperation with the ISHR-sections Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. The project is sponsored by the German Federal Office of Foriegn Affairs.

The Eastern Partnership
The Eastern Partnership (EaP), initially called the East Partnership in the media, is a subproject of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). “The main objective of the Eastern Partnership is to provide and create the necessary conditions to accelerate political association and further economic integration between the European Union and interested partner countries”. These agreements have been concluded with the six post-Soviet states of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus.
