Financial assistance for Ukrainians in Romania: How to receive payments

The Romanian Red Cross community offers financial assistance for vulnerable Ukrainian refugees in Romania. The assistance amounts to 110 euros per person and will be paid for three months. This is reported by visitukraine.today.
Who can receive the payment
Financial assistance is available for people who meet the following criteria:
Have left Ukraine because of the conflict;
Are in Romania;
belong to one of these categories:
– female-headed family: a life situation where the mother, grandmother, aunt or sister is the main decision-maker in the family at the moment;
– a family with two or more children under 18 years of age;
– a family member with a disability
– a family member over 60 years of age
– a family member is pregnant or breastfeeding
– a single woman without other adults;
– lack of access to free health care.
Important: If you have already received financial support from another agency, you are not eligible for this assistance from the Red Cross.
One person can apply on behalf of a family. Each person can only be registered in the system once. When applying you need to:
gather documents and documents of family members for the application;
Download communication and messaging applications (it is recommended to have at least two channels of communication with you – Whatsapp, Viber, SMS message, e-mail);
Have access to a smartphone.
Documents for application:
passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
ID card of a citizen of Ukraine;
Internal passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
foreigner’s passport with a residence permit;
Birth certificate (for children and teenagers).
Documents for children are submitted separately in the same way as for adults.
To apply for assistance you need to download a special app from the Red Cross and follow the instructions in it. The app is available for IOS and Android. If the application is approved, you will be notified on Viber or Whatsapp about how to get help. The application takes a minimum of 2 weeks to process.
Once the application is approved, you can choose how to receive the funds.
If you have an account with PrivatBank, Monobank, Oshchadbank or A-Bank:
you can get the money quickly through your bank’s app. If you do not have your bank’s app, download it to your phone. The process is quick and possible wherever you are;
if you want to receive cash, visit any MoneyGram branch. You must go to an agent and give them a MoneyGram code, which you will receive from the Red Cross. MoneyGram accepts only the following government identification documents for cash withdrawal: passport of a citizen of Ukraine, ID card of a citizen of Ukraine, driving license of Ukraine, temporary protection document issued in Romania.
