ISHR Armenia Section

The Armenian section of the ISHR was founded in 2007 by journalists, activists and other people that shared same ideas. In 2008 it was registered in Armenia Ministry of Justice as the international Non-Governmental Organization.

For eight years, the ISHR Armenian section is actively engaged in human rights activities in Armenia and in cooperation with other sections of the ISHR. The activities supported by the Armenian section are following the principle of protection and support to the more vulnerable parts of society, which are often not in the public spotlight, our members, journalists actively shed light on such problems and had success in the protection of the rights of these people.

ISHR Armenia is engaged in human rights activities carried out with the help of donors and volunteers. We are protecting the rights of refugees, people with disabilities, implemented the project “Awareness about the rights of disabled persons in Armenia”, published the book “Employment of rights and benefits of persons with disabilities in Armenia”.

Since 2011, we have addressed the protection of the rights of laborers, and created the site www.ishryouth.am. We also implemented a social care project for elderly people with the financial support of the German Embassy in Armenia. Members of our section are mainly active in the social processes in Armenia, defending and supporting justice and democratic values in the country.
