As of September 19, 2022, 1,766 Ukrainian refugee children were enrolled in Moldovan schools and kindergartens for the 2022-2023 school year, including 1,169 students and 597 preschoolers.

In 223 general educational institutions of the country the primary cycle is attended by 628 children, there are 514 students in gymnasiums and 27 students in lyceums. Education is provided in the state and Russian languages. Thus, of the total number of students in general educational institutions 146 are taught in the state language and 1023 in Russian.

There are 597 children enrolled in 208 preschool educational institutions.

The Ministry of Education and Research monitors the process of integration of Ukrainian children and youth into the educational system of the Republic of Moldova and encourages parents of refugee children to apply for enrollment in schools in the district of residence.
