ISHR Ukraine: personal help goes on

4-8 July 2022, Shyshaki, Poltava region, Ukraine. IAC ISHR together wit Save the Children delivered 200 family hygiene kits that include washing powder, soap, toothpaste and other hygiene items for 605 internally displaced people that are located in Shyshaki community. This action is the first joint action of IAC ISHR and SCI. Our aim is to support IDP community and local authorities in rural areas of Poltava region with hygiene items and food.

July 9, 2022, Kiev region, Ivankovskaya community (Sukachi, Gornostaypol), Ukraine. IAC ISHR installed reverse osmosis filters in two social institutions for more than 350 people and delivered hygiene kits, including women’s hygiene, shampoos, toothpastes, towels and other necessary hygiene items for 226 wards of Gornostaypol and Sukachi psychoneurological social centers. These settlements are located near the Belorussian border, 30-50 km from Chernobyl. Because of this remote location, they do not receive any humanitarian aid, and the state has reduced funding for social centers.

These humanitarian actions are part of IAC ISHR program to install 15 water treatment systems in social institutions under the UHF program. Our goal is to provide drinking water and hygiene kits to the local population and refugees in areas affected by hostilities. Such actions will help prevent a critical deterioration in the sanitary and hygienic standard of living of the population, as well as a possible health problems associated with it.

In general, IAC ISHR plans to provide about 6,000 hygiene kits to those in need (internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, children, the elderly, etc.) in settlements affected by hostilities and/or remote areas.
