“Deepfake: When you can’t even trust your own eyes”
Imagine a famous person making a statement in a video.
You see his face, you hear his voice. Everything seems real.
But he never said that.
This is a deepfake: a video, sound, or image created or modified by artificial intelligence that can convincingly imitate the speech and appearance of a real person.
And today, it is becoming increasingly difficult to recognize a fake with just your eyes.
So, how to protect yourself?
Don’t just trust what you see and hear.
Check the source. Who posted the video first?
Look for the same statement on official pages and trusted media outlets.
Pay attention to strange movements, voice and lip inconsistencies, but remember: a modern deepfake may not even have these errors.
And most importantly, if the video shocks you, scares you, or makes you want to share it immediately, don’t rush.
In the era of deepfake, the question is not just “what do I see?”
The question is also, “How do I know this is real?”
