Alexey Navalny was registered as inclined to extremism and terrorism

The administration of penal colony No. 2 in Pokrov removed the politician Alexey Navalny from the register list as inclined to escape, but put him on the register list as inclined to terrorism and extremism. This was reported on the politician’s Instagram page.

“A certain police officer sent a report that the convicted Navalny professes extremist and terrorist ideology. It is proposed to register Navalny as an extremist and a terrorist,” Navalny quoted. The commission gathered in the colony supported this proposal.

In February 2021, the administration of the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention facility, where Navalny was held until his transfer to penal colony No. 2 in Pokrov, registered Navalny as inclined to escape. The politician complained that, as a result, an officer of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the penal colony came to check him every hour during the night . Navalny demanded to provide him with an eight-hour sleep guaranteed by law.

He sued the administration of the pre-trial detention facility in late April 2021, but the court dismissed the suit. In early June 2021, the Petushinsky District Court of the Vladimir Region rejected a similar suit against penal colony No. 2 in Pokrov.

In early February 2021, the politician was changed the suspended sentence according to the Yves Rocher case to a real one. He will spend about 2.5 years in a penal colony, taking into account the home detention he served. Navalny returned to Russia on January 17, 2021 after receiving treatment in Germany and was immediately detained while going through passport control at Sheremetyevo airport.

Alexey Navalny has been in prison for 268 days
