There are more than 4 million refugees from Ukraine who have been granted temporary protection status in EU countries.

The number of fugitives from war increased by almost 46,000 in June.
The largest increase in arrivals was observed in Germany, the Czech Republic and Ireland, Eurostat reported.
As of 30 June, 4 million 70 thousand refugees from Ukraine had temporary protection status in EU countries. The largest number of people found refuge in these countries: Germany (28%), Poland (24%), Czech Republic (9%).
Compared to May, the number of people with temporary protection increased by 1.1% (45,800 people).
The largest increase in refugees from Ukraine for the month was recorded in such countries:
Germany – 21,830 (+2.0%);
Czech Republic – 9,050 people (+2.7%);
Ireland – 3,100 refugees (+3.7%).

At the same time, refugee flows to two countries decreased in June compared to May:
Poland (-13,635; -1.4 per cent);
Italy (-1005; -0.6 per cent).
Europe has an unequal ratio of Ukrainian refugees to the local population.
The highest number of Ukrainians per thousand population is recorded in the following countries:
Czech Republic – 32.2;
Poland – 26.6;
Estonia – 25.8;
Bulgaria – 24.9;
Lithuania – 24.7.
As of 30 June 2023, 98% of temporary protection beneficiaries in the EU were Ukrainian citizens. Of these, 46.6 per cent were women, 34.4 per cent were children, and 19 per cent were men.
