MOLDOVA LOST ANOTHER CASE IN ECHR

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) found Moldova guilty of failing to take steps to investigate the punishment of a child who was subjected to violence.

According to the case file, the boy told his mother about the violence only five years after the incident. She appealed to the prosecutor’s office, but they refused to investigate the case due to lack of evidence.

Then she appealed to the ECHR, which in its decision, 10 years later, ordered the Moldovan authorities to pay the victims 7.5 thousand euros as compensation for moral damage and another 3.36 thousand – for court costs.
