ISHR: Russia does not consider civilians

The International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) strongly condemns Russia’s illegal attack on Ukraine. ISHR has employees and members in eastern Ukraine and in Kiev, with whom it maintains telephone contact. From there, there are reports of exodus and the first supply shortages.

ISHR Chairman Edgar Lamm demands: “The invaders must immediately stop shelling civilian targets. It is impossible to prevent the flight of people in the east of Ukraine. The war started by Russia must be stopped immediately.”
ISHR sees a particular risk for Belarusian refugees in Ukraine. There is a risk that if Russia occupies Ukraine, they will be handed over to the Lukashenka regime.
