Russian human rights activists have prepared a manifesto “To return law and human rights to international politics”.

The most dangerous and tragic trend in contemporary international politics is the gradual abandonment of international law and human rights as the basis of the world order, against the backdrop of the devaluation of the documents and institutions that protect them.

In fact, it is the destruction of everything that was created to protect the world from new wars and global catastrophes. The international arena is gradually returning to the dangerous state of rejection of values in favour of the right of force and deals between the strong, but it was this state that led to two world wars.

Russian human rights defenders have very little power, resources and even less influence; only the efforts of states and responsible politicians with real power can change the situation. But human rights defenders have a duty to at least warn about where things are heading.

Russian human rights defenders have together prepared a manifesto “Bringing Law and Human Rights Back into International Politics”.

We are pleased to have been involved in the initiation and preparation of this text. It will be published jointly in different languages. It is very important that it be heard as loudly as possible. If you can help make this happen, it will hardly be a wasted effort.
