It is timed to coincide with the date of adoption of one of the most significant global commitments in the world - the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration was adopted by the UN General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948. The Declaration articulated for the first time the fundamental human rights to be universally protected.
