Human Rights Day is celebrated annually around the world on 10 December.

It is timed to coincide with the date of adoption of one of the most significant global commitments in the world – the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Declaration was adopted by the UN General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948. The Declaration articulated for the first time the fundamental human rights to be universally protected.
As “a document whose principles are to be followed by all peoples and nations”, the Declaration is a global blueprint for international, national and local laws and policies. ☝️The Declarationis translated more often than any other document in the world: its text exists in 577 languages.
