The 1st Western District Military Court of St Petersburg has sentenced artists Anastasia Dyudyaeva and Alexander Dotsenko in a case of “calls to terrorism” over postcards in Ukrainian posted in Lenta.<\/h1>\n

The prosecution requested 4 years of imprisonment for the couple. The court sentenced Alexander to 3 years in prison and his wife Anastasia to 3.5 years.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, Dyudyaeva made leaflets in Ukrainian, on which, among other things, was the inscription “Putin to gilyaku” (“Putin to the gallows”), and then put them in the shop “Lenta”. This was told to “OVD-Info” by the woman’s former lawyer Kateryna Gordienko. The law enforcers claim that during the search they found sketches of the leaflets.<\/p>\n

Other evidence of the investigation includes clothes seized in their flat, witness statements and screenshots of video recordings, which allegedly confirm that the spouses went to Lenta with a trolley.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Dyudyaeva held an anti-war exhibition on Victory Day in her flat in Taitsy. The exhibition was disrupted by security forces and 14 people were detained, including RusNews journalist Elina Kozich and SotaVision journalist Vlada Makeichik, as well as activists Vitaly Ioffe and Tatyana Sichkareva. Among the paintings on display were images of Russian President Vladimir Putin and CEC head Ella Pamfilova dressed as prisoners.<\/p>\n
