German Foreign Ministry spokesman Christopher Burger said at a briefing<\/a> in Berlin that the German Cabinet is against the glorification of Nazi crimes in any form.<\/p>\n

He made the statement in response to a question about a march to celebrate Stepan Bandera’s birthday in Kyiv on January 1.<\/p>\n

“The federal government condemns any form of anti-Semitism, any glorification of Nazi crimes,” Burger said.<\/p>\n

In this context, he added, Berlin also condemns crimes committed “including those under Bandera’s leadership”.<\/p>\n

“It must be remembered that a large part of these crimes was committed in collaboration with the German occupation forces,” the spokesman said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
