Muratov himself strongly disagreed with the decision of the Ministry of Justice. Sergei Sokolov, Muratov&#8217;s deputy, was appointed acting editor-in-chief.<\/p>\n<p>Dmitry Muratov was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021. He shared the prize with the journalist Maria Ressa.
