Roderic O’Gorman also noted that Dublin cannot guarantee that it will accept all Ukrainian refugees and asylum seekers next week.<\/p>\n

According to RT\u00c9’s website, there are currently 42,000 Ukrainians and 16,000 asylum seekers living in Ireland.<\/p>\n

Applicants for international protection are also denied housing, but there is no data on how many of them have already been told that there is no housing for them.<\/p>\n

Martin Heydon, Minister of State for the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine Affairs, said the government “cannot guarantee” a bed for every refugee arriving in Ireland.<\/p>\n

Mr. Heydon said the Irish government and society had worked hard to cope with the scale of the crisis and the arrival of Ukrainian refugees.<\/p>\n
